This week (12/16/2008):

Stevn Schick was the percussionist of the NY based contemporary music group ‘Bang on a Can’. At the same time he performed as an acclaimed solo percussionist. Watch his performance ‘?Corporal’ here:

Though he didn’t bang on a can, the Renaissance composer Gesualdo had quite a tortured life which affected relationships around him to the extent of triple murder. Some of his unusually chromatic music is here:

Had Mathieu Ricard and his fellow inquisitive (buddhist) researchers lived at Gesualdo’s time they might have been able to help him in becoming a happy adn peaceful person:
