The Age of The Bully
Bullies are fearful aggressive humans solely depending on their desperately needed ‘muscle’ power. Because they are driven by fear, they will use . . their negative power consequently: they can’t afford to ‘lose’. Bullies are in a permanent competition, everybody is a potential enemy for them. Even their friends have to prove consistent loyalty in order to be invited into a ‘friendship’ of narrowly defined rules.
Those friends better be careful: the bullying never stops! Inside their fraternities and – especially – male brotherhoods stark hierarchies rule. As a ‘member’ you better join in playing the deeply mistrusting bully game, meaning that you build up enough muscle power to succeed inside the game, or to accept your set place. If you don’t you will taste the uncompromising force that will put you back into your place, at best. More likely, you will be severely hurt (‘Don’t forget it,Buddy!’). And there are even worse, lifethreatening options.
Power is, of course, any muscle power you can buy. Be it physical human power or weapons power. Bullies are driven by fear of collapsing so they do anyything to ‘stay on top’. That is cosequently their only joy: staying on top of a self proclaimed and thoroughly self important hierarchy. For them it is a ‘jungle out there’ etc. The scenario could be likened to a violent pubertarian video game with all its pseudo-morality (good vs. evil) and sentimentality (at the end a submissive woman is the ‘price’).

Bullies can never relax because they always have to keep an eye on their enemies and friends which could be anybody. Bullies are closely connected to the notion of ‘power’ as we know it: power over others, power to relentlessly control the environment (which includes ‘others’). Control, control: what a poor living that is. Well, at least that is what you might think. The bullies seem to enjoy bossing people around. Unless . . .
Unless love comes into play. Compassion comes into play. Bullies can’t deal with that. You have to surrender in order to open up. You have to open up to love and compassion. That is as alien as it gets to the bully.
The age of the bully: when is it over? Hope is on the rise since this utterly ridiculous game has shown some cracks lately. Seems those cracks are deepening every second and the greed, righteousness, stubborness, arrogance and hostility that goes with it might have to surrender to an incredibly exciting gentle creativity that lets humans bloom into their true nature. And indeed, nature could finally relax, too.
